إنَّ هذا الكتاب الذي بين يديك يسلط الضوء على تاريخ كلّ الرحالة الستة عشر من جوانب عديدة من أي بلد جاء ولماذا كان إهتمامه بالشرق عموماً والعرب خصوصاً بل يتعدى هذا الأمر ويتحدث عن مغامرات هؤلاء الرحالة في إصقاع الجزيرة العربية، ومن ثم يدخل في صميم الرحلة لكلّ الرسالة الستة عشر من الذين زاروا الحجاز إبتداءً من عام 1503م – 909هـ - لغاية عام 1894م – 1311هـ.
