وهناك قسم من الرحالة رسموا رسوماً لمواقع ومدن ولشخوص مختلفة ساعدتنا على التعرف على مواقع وآثار وملابس وأزياء سكان تلك المناطق والقاطنين والزائرين.
إنَّ هذا الكتاب الذي بين يديك يسلط الضوء على تاريخ كلّ الرحالة الستة عشر من جوانب عديدة من أي بلد جاء ولماذا كان إهتمامه بالشرق عموماً والعرب خصوصاً بل يتعدى هذا الأمر ويتحدث عن مغامرات هؤلاء الرحالة في أصقاع الجزيرة العربية، ومن ثمّ يدخل في صميم الرحلة لكلّ الرحالة الستة عشر من الذين زاروا الحجاز إبتداءً من عام 1503م - 909هـ - لغاية عام 1894م - 1311هـ.
