المخلوق جلعاد عتصمون يتمّ إستعماله أحياناً كفزّاعة لتخويف الأطفال اليهود، لكنّه حقيقيّ وموجود، إنّه معروف لدى مجموعة من الناس بوصفه موسيقار جاز وعازف ساكسفون رفيع المستوى.
لكنّه معروف لدى مجموعة أخرى بوصفه مجادلاً ومحاوراً رهيباً في قضايا الهويّة اليهوديّة.
وفي وقتنا الحاليّ، فإنّ أيّ نقد لأفعال "الدولة اليهوديّة"، أو لنشاطاتٍ منظّماتٍ أو جماعاتٍ يهوديّةٍ، يتمّ وصمه بــ "معادات الساميّة" بصرف النظر عن طبيعة تلك الأفعال والنشاطات في معظم الأحيان.
جلعاد، الّذي هو "إسرائيلي" سابق و"يهوديّ" سابق، كتب بالتفصيل في كتابه (من التائه؟) (THE WANDERING WHO) عن طبيعة الهويّة اليهوديّة، وعن مدى إختلافها عن تلك الهويّة النمطيّة الّتي تقدّمها لنا معظم الجماعات اليهوديّة، كما يحلّل هذا الموضوع في كتابه الجديد هذا، ويضعه في سياق متجانس مع التحوّل السياسي الكبير 2016، ويساعد في إلقاء الضوء على كيفيّة الوصول إلى هذه النتائج غير المتوقّعة لإستفتاء خروج بريطانية من الإتحاد الأوروبيّ، وإنتخاب ترامب للرئاسة الأمريكيّة.
إستنتاجات جلعاد غير مريحة للقارئ، لكنّها نتاج ذهن فلسفيّ حادّ وفهم عميق للموضوع وسنوات طويلة من المعايشة لإسرائيل والصهيونيّة والهويّة اليهوديّة.
ومهما كان صمود هذه الأفكار مع تجربة الأيّام فإِنّها تبقى إستنتاجاتٍ حكيمةً مبنيّةً على أدلّة صلبةٍ مدعومة بإقتباساتٍ من كتّاب وخبراءَ يهود، وتستحقَ الإهتمام الجدّيّ يدل الإهمال والتجاهل.
