مع بداية هذا القرن، تزايدت الإشكاليات المحيطة بالمهنة الإعلامية، ومنها إشكالية التباس العلاقة بين الصحافي ومصادر معلوماته وتظهيرات هذه العلاقة في عمله وإنتاجه. فطريقة استخدامات المصادر في النصّ الصحفي، تعكس صورةً “طبق الأصل” عن تعاطي الصحافي مع أبرز أُسس المهنة وشروط ممارستها، أيْ: تقديس الحقيقة، توخي الدقة، اعتماد الإشهار، مراعاة الموضوعية، التزام الأخلاقيات. يتقصّى هذا الكتاب في استخدامات المصادر الصحفية في الإعلام اللبناني، ولا سيما منها، تلك الصيغ المتوالدة، لمصادر معلومات يتمّ توظيفها من قِبَل الصحافي في تعابير تجهِّلها، ولا تذكر مصدرَها للجمهور. وهذه الصيغ، المُسمَّاة في التداول الصحفي بـ”المصادر المجهولة”، إنّما هي مجهَّلة في الواقع يموِّهها الصحافي، أحيانًا، بشكلٍ مطلق أو يحجبها، في أحيانٍ أخرى، عبر تسميات ونعوت وتراكيب، يحاول أن يجعلها تدلِّل (ولا تدلّ)، إلى الجهة التي تقف وراءها، ولكن من دون الكشف عن صاحب المعلومة الحقيقي. أما الدافع الأساسي لهذا المؤلَّف، فهو ملاحظتنا للإفراط والعشوائية اللذيْن يطبعان طريقة الإسناد المصدري في الوسائل الإعلامية اللبنانية، بشكلٍ يتنافى بوضوح مع القوانين والاتفاقات والمواثيق الصحفية الدولية التي نظّمت حقوق الصحافي وواجباته، في سياق أدائه لدوره، ومن ضمنها حدود وشكل العلاقة التي يجب أن تقوم بين الصحافي ومصادر معلوماته.
