يدور موضوع هذا الكتاب حول أحكام توزيع الأموال قبل الموت، وهو دراسة فقهية مقارنة مع قانون الأحوال الشخصية الأردني، حيث إنّ هذا الموضوع من الموضوعات ذات العلاقة الوثيقة في حياتنا.
فقد بين القرآن الكريم أحكام التركات والأموال والأعيان التي يتركها الميت، وبين نصيب الورثة، وأعطى كل ذي حق حقه بنظام دقيق وعادل تجلّت فيه الحكمة الربانيّة، ولم يترك الوحي مجالاً للإجتهاد في أحكام التركات؛ لأن النفوس مجبولة على حب المال.
ولكن الناس بطبعهم وحبهم للمال وحبهم للأبناء دفع الكثيرين منهم استجابة لميولهم وعواطفهم القلبية إلى توزيع أموالهم قبل الموت خصوصاً إذا أحسوا بدنو الأجل، وهذا أدى إلى الوقوع في مخالفات شرعية صريحة، وأضراراً للورثة، وخلافات وخصومات ضارة بالحياة الإجتماعية بين المسلمين.
ويعالج الكتاب الأخطاء الشرعية التي يرتكبها بعض المسلمين في وقتنا الحاضر، ومسائل مشابهة كثيرة تتعلق بتوزيع الأموال مثل: أموال المرتد والمفقود، والموت السريري، والمريض مرض الموت، وغيرها.
وشمل الكتاب على بيان آراء الفقهاء والمذاهب في هذه المسائل وإبراز الأدلة والحجج والبراهين في جميع ما ذهبوا إليه، مرجحاً الرأي.
