جمع المؤلف الأرجنتين اللبناني الأصل "إدغاردو زوين" بمساعدة الشاعرة والمترجمة اللبنانية "صباح زوين" كتاب أسموه "لقاء الشعر" ضم ثلاثين شاعراً لبنانياً وثلاثين شاعراً أرجنتينياً، وفي محاولة أخرى راودت المترجمة "صباح زوين" فكرة ترجمة الشعراء الأرجنتينيين الذين في هذا الكتاب إلى العربية، الأمر الذي استطاعت تحقيقه مع المؤلف إدغاردو زوين بفضل الدعم الذي تلقوه من سفارة الأجنتين في لبنان ووزارة الخارجية الأرجنتينية، وذلك بهدف أن تبلغ هذه القصائد كل من لا يمكنه أن يتعرف إليها عبر وسائل أخرى سوى الترجمة من قراء لبنانيين وعرب.
يجدر القول إن "شعر أرجنتيني معاصر" ليس أنطولوجيا بكل معنى الكلمة، أقله في معناها المتوافق عليه، فهذه المجموعة من الشعراء ليست الأحرى سوى جزء من المشهد العام والأوسع للشعر الأرجنتيني الراهن، وضع فيه المؤلف شعراء مهمّين جداً ومكرسين، ولا بد أن أضفنا إليهم أيضاً شعراء غير معروفين كثيراً وكذلك شعراء جدداً، علماً أنهم لا يقلون جودة عن زملائهم؛ يعبرون بعمق كبير عن التجاذبات الثقافية التي يعيشونها من خلال الرؤية الخاصة بكل جيل من هذه الأجيال المتداخلة عمرياً وإستيتيكياً داخل الحركة الشعرية الراهنة في البلاد، كذلك، من ناحية أخرى، التنوع الفني والإيديولوجي والجغرافي (الجغرافيا الأرجنتينية متنوعة وشاسعة: ملاحظة ص. ز.)، يمكّن كل أولئك القراء الذين ينتمون إلى آفاق مختلفة وبيئة مغايرة، من أن يقتربوا، لدى قراءتهم هذا الكتاب، من الثيمة التي يتناولها الشعراء الأرجنتينيون المعاصرون والتي تقلقهم.
