ويتألف هذا الكتاب من ثلاثة عشر فصلاً خصص كل فصل للحديث عن جانب معين من البحوث الكمية والنوعية، فقد جاء الفصل الأول كفرشة معرفية تم التحدث فيه عن أهمية البحوث العلمية وعلاقتها ببعض المفاهيم، ثم انتقل الكاتب إلى الفصل الثاني الذي خصصه للحديث عن مشكلة الدراسة وفرضياتها في البحوث، والفصل الثالث تم تناول موضوع البحث الكمي وكل ما يتعلق بكيفية القيام بالبحث الكمي، ومنهجيته العلمية، وكتابة تقريره، ثم تم تناول أدوات البحوث الكمية في الفصل الرابع، وخصص الفصلين الخامس والسادس للحديث عن المنهج الوصفي والتجريبي كأقرب مناهج للبحوث الكمية.
