يعد الشيخ "علي النمازي الشاهرودي" (1405ه.ق/1926م) من أبرز فقهاء ومحدثي عصره في مدينة شاهرود الإيرانية وغيرها من مدن إسلامية ولأنه كان حافظا للقرآن ومتتبعا للأحاديث الشريفة فقد خلّد تراثا علميا ضخما ومنه كتاب "الولاية التكوينية للنبي والأئمة"، حيث أثبت فيه المؤلف ولاية النبي وأهل بيته (عليه وعليهم الصلاة والسلام) التكوينية في أربعة عشر فصلاً مستنداً بالأحاديث المعتبرة لعلماء وفقهاء الإسلام من السنة والشيعة، ومجيبا عن بعض الأسئلة التي تشغل بال المسلمين.
وفي هذا الكتاب يستند الشيخ الشاهرودي "في وجوب التمسك بالثقلين الكتاب والعترة" إلى رواية "نقلها علماء الشيعة والسنة ما تجاوز حد التواتر ... لدى جميع أهل السنة عن رسول الله (ص) قال: "إني تارك فيكم ما إن تمسكتم به لن تضلوا بعدي. أحدهما أعظم من الآخر كتاب الله .. وعترتي أهل بيتي ولن يتفرقا حتى يردا عليّ الحوض فانظروا كيف تخلفوني فيهما" رواه مسلم والترمذي في كتابيهما .. وذكر في كتاب "أحقاق الحق" طرق العامة إلى هذا الحديث (الثقلين) وأورد مصادرها ومواضعها ..."
ما يريد قوله المؤلف أنه على المسلم "أن يأخذ عقائد دينه من القرآن الكريم ... ويرجع في جميع أمور دينه من أصوله إلى فروعه إلى هذا النبع الصافي (القرآن والعترة) ...".
