تحت عنوان (شيءٌ كالسحر) تقول الكاتبة: "أترقب نبأ الحمل، وأتساءل: كيف لنا أن نحب أناساً لم نقابلهم بعد، لا ندري متى سيأتون، لا ندري أسيأتون أصلاً أم لا، ولا نعرف حتى ملامحهم. نظل نتخيلهم، ننتظرهم ونشتاق لاحتضانهم إلى أن نفتح أعيننا ذات يوم لنبكي فرحة مجيئهم ورهبة وجودهم المفاجئ في حياتنا. ما أعمق ذلك الحب الذي يولد من الداخلـ يكبر في الأعماق، ويأتي قبل اللقاء وقبل الوجود حتى..." وبهذا تتمشهد الصورة في هذا النص بين ذاتين في تبادل الموقع وسحره في (الخارج/ الأم) وفي (الباطن/ الجنين) ليكون عنواناً لفضاء جوهر (الكاتبة/ الأم) وهي تروى لنا أجمل إحساس.
