القلق هو أحد أكثر الأمراض النفسية شيوعاً في الحياة المعاصرة، وكما هو معروف تؤثر الإضطرابات النفسية للقلق سلباً في قدرات الفرد وتركيزه وإستيعابه، وفي علاقاته الأسرية والإجتماعية.
يهدف الفصل الأول إلى عرض ثلاثة مواضيع: الأول: مقدمة عامة، والثاني: يعرض مشكلة البحث ويحدد التساؤلات التي يتناولها البحث، والثالث: يعرض الهدف من البحث ويوضح أهمية الدراسة.
فالقلق ليس إنفعالاً يشيع بين الناس فحسب، بل هو خاصية عامة وعالمية؛ وقد أكد فرويد على عمومية القلق بقوله: "لعلّي لا أحتاج شخصياً أن أعرفكم بموضوع القلق، فكل منا دون إستثناء قد عانى واختبر هذا الإحساس: أو على الأحرى هذه الحالة الوجدانية الإنفعالية مرة أو أكثر في حياته".
كما أن كثيراً من الدراسات أشارت إلى تأثير القلق في السلوك الإنساني، وفي تفاعل الفرد مع المجتمع من حوله، وكذلك في تحصيله الدراسي، وأدائه العلمي، وقدرته على العطاء، وعلى إدراكه وترتيبه الذهني.
هذه الدراسة تهدف إلى الوقوف على مشكلة القلق النفسية التي يعاني منها المراهق، ومحاولة الكشف عن مدى وجودها بين الشباب في هذه المرحلة.
