كان في النية ان اتابع ما كتب وجدي ، وما كتب عنه- في حدود ما تستدعيه الدراسة لأخراج عنه كتابا كبيرا بعنوان"أمة في رجل" وقد صرفتني عما أزمعت شواغل علمية وجامعية كن "وجدي" والكتابة عنه لم يغيبا عن البال قط.
وبعد ثلاثين عاما إلا قليلا (اى في العام 1992 وبعض من العام الذي قبله) عدت إلى الوريقات والكراسات ولقد تقدمت بي السن وتواضع المطلب ورحم الله امراءا عرف قدر نفسه. لم يكن من المتاح والمستطاع إلا هذا الكتاب الصغير.
والفص الاول من الكتاب ( وهو مدخل للدراسة) عن "الدولة من منظور إسلام" والفصل الثاني منه بعنوان "وقولوا للناس حسنا" وفيه عرض لبعض ما جاء في الكتاب والسنة عن الدعوة إلى الله " والنصح" أى النقد بالتى هى أحسن والفصل الثالث عن "محمد فريد وجدي المثل الحي للعالم المسلم" أما الرابع والاخير ( وهو الجزء الاساسي من الكتاب) فعن " محمد فريد وجدي وحسن استعمال الحرية" وللكتاب ملحق عن "وجديات وجدي"
