لما كان سمة هذا العصر هو التخصص، لذلك آثرنا أن لا نتحدث عن العلاج بالأعشاب بوجه عام ولكن فيما يخص أمراض معينة تصيب الجهاز الهضمي، ونخص بالذكر الأمراض التي تصيب الكبد والمعروف أن الكبد أو أكبر غدة في جسم الإنسان وهي المسؤولة عن تنقية جسم الإنسان من المواد السامة التي تضره وتحويل هذه السموم إلى مركبات يسهل إخراجها عن طريق البول ولما كان للكبد تلك المكانة العظيمة كان لابد أن نفرد له كتابًا مستقًا، ولعل هذا الكتاب وغيرها من الكتب التي تصنف في مثل هذا المجال تساعد المريض على الشفاء، وذلك بالاستعانة بالله أولًا لأنه الذي قال: {وإذا مرضت فهو يشفين}.
وبقي أن نقول إن العلاج بالأعشاب يتفق في الكثير منه بالهدي النبوي في التداوي والعلاج، ويكفي أن ترجع إلى كتاب مثل الطب النبوي لابن القيم- رحمه الله- لتتبين تلك الحقيقة المهمة.
