هذه دراسة تعنى بإبراز تمازج السياقين: التكليفي والتثقيفي لبيان الوحى قرآنا وسنة، ولعل ازوداجية الحركة فى هذه الدراسة، وطبيعة الموضوع الذى تتناوله قد تلقى بظلالها على وجه هذه الدراسة فتبدو فى ناظرى أولى العجلة من القراء أنها دراسة فقهية مقطوعة الرحم بعلم البلاغة، ولا سيما بلاغة "المفتاح" وولائده، ولكن الواقع يقطع بغير ذلك تماماً إنها من أقرب الدراسات رحما بعلم بلاغة العربية الحقق وإدراك ذلك منها قد يحتاج إلى مصابرة. وقد كانت عنايتى فى هذه الدراسة بتحرير مفهوم دلالة الألفاظ عند الأصوليين، وبأقسامها من وجوه متعددة.
من حيث العلاقة الوضعية بين الدال والمدلول: تطابقا وتلازماً، من حيث كلية الدال وجزئيته (عموم الدلالة وخصوصها)، من حيث ظهور الدلالة وخفاؤها (مستوى الإبانة)، تلك هي وجوه تقسيم دلالة الألفاظ التى تناولتها بالدراسة، وفي كل قسم منها ضروب متعددة فصلت القول فيها.
