وكتاب "عوارف المعارف" للإمام القدوة شيخ الإسلام شهاب الدين السهروردي رضي الله عنه (ت632هـ) من أهم كتب التصوف المفيدة النافعة فقد اشتمل على ثلاثة وستين باباً فى علوم الصوفية واحوالهم ومقاماتهم وآدبهم وأخلاقهم وغرائب مواجيدهم، وحقائق معرفتهم وتوحيدهم ودقيق إشاراتهم ولطيف اصطلاحاتهم، وذلك ليذب عن هذه العصابة الارتياب، ببيان وجه الصواب فيما اعتمدوه، وصريح العلم فيما اعتقدوه. هذا وقد اهتم العلماء بهذا الكتاب على مر العصور والدهور وتناولوه بالشرح والاختصار والتعليق والتخريج، كما تناولوه بالقراءة والسماع بالأسانيد المتصلة جيلا بعد جيل.. وطبع مرات ومرات.
ولأهمية هذا الكتاب وعظيم نفعه ساهمت في إعادة نشره، وقد اعتمدت على النسخة المطبوعة بهامش إحياء علوم الدين بمكتبة الحلبي سنة 1957 والمطبوعة بدار الكتاب العربي ببيروت سنة 1403هـ، فقمت بعمل ترجمة للمؤلف والتعريف به، وتخريج آيات الكتاب الكريمة من مواضعها من المصحف الشريف، وتخريج أحاديثه الشريفة من كتب السنة المطهرة مبينا درجة الحديث من حيث الصحة والضعف مشفوعا بكلام الائمة والحفاظ فى حكمهم على الحديث ومعتمدا كلام الإمام الحافظ أحمد بن الصديق - رحمه الله- في غنية العارف في تخريجه لهذا الكتاب.
