قفز الصبي من القارب.. اندفع نحو البيض وأمسكه.. نادينا عليه بلا جدوى. فجأة وجدنا ساق الصبي بين حنكي التمساح الأم، قفزنا من القارب وبكل الأدوات الممكنة ضربناها، أفلتت الساق لتمسك الفخذ ومع تكاثر الضرب عليها أفلتته بصعوبة.. استدارت لتواجهنا. جذبنا الصبي وقفزنا في القارب وجدفنا بسرعة ثلاث ساعات مرت ونحن نتعلق بآمال أن يمر لنش ينقله بسرعة للمدينة أو تمر سيارة تهريب وأن يتوقف النزيف وتتوقف معها صرخات الفتى وأناته، قال "الهجام": ستهاجمنا الذئاب اليوم.. الذئب يشم رائحة دم البشر على بعد أميال بالصحراء، توقف أنات الفتى أخيراً.
