يواصل الدكتور أسعد الأسدي بحثه في ثقافة العمارة، فيوسع من ثوب الثقافة المكانية بصفته مهندساً معمارياً يجد في تصميم العمارة وتنفيذها طريقة لقراءة ظلال الفضاء ودوره في صياغة وجود إنساني لم يكن مقتصراً على الساكنين، وإنما على فعل السكن، يعلّق تاريخ المكان ولا يلتفت إليه إلا بوصفه نسيجاً من تجارب حية متداخلة تغني المكان وتعدّد أزمنته.
فالزمان بهذا المعنى أثر فاعل من آثار المكان لا محض وعاء لتحقق أحداث عابرة، إن فعل السكنى عنده هو الفعل الذي يشكل وعي الحضور به وعياً بفاعلية الأشياء على الإنسان، ومن هنا نجد أن الأشياء التي تعامل معها ضمن فعل السكنى تحولت إلى أدوات إنسانية اكتسبت المعرفة والتأثير عبر علاقتها المكانية بالإنسان.
إن الدكتور أسعد الأسدي ونتيجة لخبرته الميدانية لا يدخلنا في خصوصيات تجاربه، وإنما يدور بنا حول فهمه للعمارة وتأمله خصائصها في اللحظة التي يتأمل فيها صلتها بالوجود الإنساني، مبتعداً عن كونه مهندساً ليصبح ناقداً ظاهراتياً.
