"نزلت من الطائرة وفي يدي حقيبتي اليدوية وورقة لا بد من تعبئتها في الطائرة قبل الوصول، لكي تفتح لك هذه الدولة أبوابها. سرت في المطار أتبع الركاب القادمين لأضمن سرعة الوصول بدأت ألحظ النظرات المتشككة الموجهة إليّ من الركاب وموظفي المطار. لم أكن متعجباً؛ فعندما تكون ملامحك عربية وملتحياً ومرتدياً معظفاً أسود فالتهمة ثابتة عليك لا محالة. الكل يبتسم، وإن كنت أقرأ في العيون غير ذلك، ففيها إحساس بأني (مشتبه به) وهذا كافٍ بعد أن أخذت حقيبتي، أقبل رجل أمن ومعه كلب جعل يشتمُّ حقيبتي، وعندما لم يجد بغيته لدي، كشّر عن أسنانه فيما يشبه الابتسامة وهو يقول: بإمكانك المرور سيدي. تبسمت في داخلي، وأنا أشعر بمراراته، ففي نظرهن أنا مشروع إرهابي جدير بتوقيفه والتحقيق معه، ولكنه وللأسف لم يجد دليلاً يثبت به نظريته. بعد انتهاء إجراءات الدخول تابعت سيري إلى بوابة الخروج عندها استوقفني أحد الضباط وسألني عن ورقة الدخول التي قمت بتعبئتها في الطائرة، مددتها له برهبة، نظر إليها بسرعة ورفع عينيه نحوي بنظرة أشعرتني بأنني أحمل مرضاً معدياً ووضع علامة (X) حمراء على الورقة وناولني إياها وهو يبتسم ابتسامة الظفر، وكأن عينيه تقولان: (أخيراً أوقعت بك)، ثم قال: من فضلك تقدم نحو ذلك الرجل. وأشار إلى ضابط يقف في آخر الممر كان يساعد امرأة كبيرة السن على النهوض وهو يبتسم لها، تفاءلت أخيراً، فتوجهت نحوه. وبعد أن فرغ من المرأة، التفت نحوي وسرعان ما تلاشت تلك الابتسامة من على شفتيه، ووضع يده على السلاح المعلق في وسطه، واستعد لمقابلة هذا الإرهابي القادم نحوه. قال وهو يتمعن في عيني لعلّه يعرف أين خبأت الأسلحة النووية التي أحملها: اتبعني من فضلك".
