يجسد هذا الكتاب صفحة من عبقريات شعراء الكوفة في قرون خلت، يقدمه المؤلف إلى سدنة الفكر العربي في الكوفة وإلى بقية أعلام الأدب العربي في قرننا هذا.
حيث يضم هذا الكتاب باقة من أشعار أعلام الكوفة وهم: شمس الدين الكوفي - أحمد بن عمار الكوفي الشعراء الكوفي، حيث تحدث المؤلف عن سيرتهما مبيناً نسبهما ولقبهما وكنيتهما، وأسماء شيوخهما وتلامذتهما وخلائقهما، ثم درس ديوان كل منهما واعتنى بتحقيق هذه الدواوين.
كما ألحق الكتاب بدراسة القصيدة المتداخلة للشاعر الشعراء الكوفي فهي منظومة ضمت الأفعال المقبلة اللام مما تقرأ بالواو والياء معاً، المتوفى سنة 635هــ، وعدّتها خمسة عشر بيتاً، وقد شرحها الشيخ بهاء الدين بن النحاس وأتبع شرحه بقصيدة له جمع فيها ما فات الشعراء الكوفي من الأفعال المقبلة اللام، ونظمها على رويّ قصيدته ووزنها.
