"بعيد الحب يا عشاق سيروا، مظاهرة يدق لها النفير، لتنتخبوا الجمال لكل عصر وتحذو حذوكم تلك العصور، ولن تجدوا لفاتنتي مثيلاً، فشمس الشعر ليس لها نظير، أقدم للحبيبة نصف قلبي وربع القلب للدنيا كثير، برب الحب أقسمت الثغور، بأن الكون للأنثى سرير، تحط على هواها في هوانا، فيحملها الفؤاد بها يطير، يحلق كلما هبت رياح ويهدر إذ يفاجئه الهدير، فيزهر في جناح الحب ريش، ويسطع في حريق العشق نور، تسائلني العذارى من تغني؟ وغيرتهن يذكيها الغيور، فأمضي بابتسامة من تجلي، بحلم سارح فيه الأمير يتعتعني الهوى والحبر يدري، بان حبيبتي البدر المنير، تضيء الليل من حولي كأني، بدنيا دهشتي طفل صغير، أشد لكوكبي العالي يميني لعل مداره بدي يصير، كأن ضلوعي الصغرى ملاذ، إليه كل معشوق يسير، يدور الكون في رأسي طويلاً، وكل الوقت أنجمها تدور، أدوخ فأنحني بالحب همي، إلى مأواي يرشدني بصير، تفاجئني التعاسة في دروبي، ويغزو مضجعي قلق خطير، فما عثر الطبيب على دوائي، كما الهادي إلى سيري ضرير، عرفت بأن سهم العشق دائي، فعدت إلى ملاكي أستجير، فأمطرها الروائع في صلاتي، وأبياتي إناث أو ذكور".
