ولكن بين الثدي وقنينة الرضاعة، هامش واسع فإن اختارت الأم الأول فإنها أمام حالة تسمى الرضاعة الطبيعية، وإن اختارت الثانية، فإنها في مواجهة الرضاعة الاصطناعية. ولكل من الخيارين ظروفهما وأسبابهما وشروط يجب أن تتوافر وأسس يجب أن تعتمد.
وفي هذا الكتاب ستجد هذه الأم لا سيما الجديدة منهن، كل ما تحتاجه من معلومات حول الرضاعة، وفيه ستقف على حلول لكل المشاكل التي قد تعترضها منذ وضع الطفل وحتى فطامه. وبالتالي ستجد كما من المعلومات عن الرضاعة الطبيعية، توقيت الرضاعة، ثدي واحد أم ثديان، مواعيد الرضاعة، عناية المرضع بثدييها، ريجيم المرأة المرضع، المشاكل التي تثيرها الرضاعة، الفطام، حالاته، وطرقه.
كما ويرد في هذا الكتاب عن أسئلة هامة حول هذا الموضوع نذكر منها: كيف ومتى يتضايق الطفل من الرضاعة؟ وكيف تعرفين أن الطفل قد شبع، حتى يدر ثدياك حليبهما، هل من صلة سببية بين شكل الثدي وكمية الحليب؟ كيف تقدمين الثدي لطفلك. هذه المواضيع تم التطرف لها في القسم الأول من هذا الكتاب.
أما القسم الثاني فأرد للرضاعة الاصطناعية، أسبابها طريقة اختيار الحليب، تحضير المقادير، عدد مرات الرضاعة الاصطناعية، إمساك الطفل للبيبرونة، طعام الطفل في المرحلة الأولى والثانية، وفي سن الشهر الخامس والسادس.
