يتطلب تحضير عينات قابلة للدراسة التفصيلية والفحص الميكروسكوبي إلى معاملة الخلايا والأنسجة معاملات خاصة وذلك باستعمال مواد مثبتة تحافظ على الخلايا في حالة أقرب ما يكون إلى الحالة الحية.
