ظلت قضية مشاركة المرأة في المجتمع بشكل عام، ومشاركتها السياسية على وجه الخصوص منذ الاستقلال وعلى مر الأنظمة المتعاقبة قضية أساسية رمت بظلالها على قضايا الاستقرار في السودان دون أن يعي ساستها الدرس، ولعل الفشل الذي لازم الأنظمة الديمقراطية، كان لإقصاء المرأة دور كبير فيه باعتباره تعطيل لطاقة تمثل نصف المجتمع.. ونجد برغم هذه الظروف استطاعت المرأة وبنضالات طويلة وبفضل رائدات الحركة النسائية أن تحصل على العديد من الحقوق والمكتسبات السياسية وغيرها.. شهدت هذه المكتسبات تراجعًا خاصة في ظل الأنظمة الديكتاتورية وآخرها نظام الأنقاذ الذي ضرب رقمًا قياسيًا في اضطهاد وتهميش النساء، هذا على مستوى الحكومات.. ولم يكن الحال بأفضل منه على مستوى المعارضة، وبخاصة الأخيرة التي التأمت في إطار التجمع الوطني الديمقراطي، حيث مورس العزل والإقصاء ضد المرأة فبدأ التجمع الوطني ذكوريًا وانتهى ذكوريًا.. وما ننقله للقارئ عبر صفحات هذا الجهد المتواضع، هي تجربة لنساء عملن في ظروف قاسية وواجهن صعوبات وعراقيل أقسى، في سبيل أداء واجبهن تجاه الوطن وتجاه المرأة التي قام التنظيم لأجلها.. التنظيم المقصود هو "التجمع النسوي الديمقراطي السوداني بالأراضي المحررة شرق السودان ودولة إرتريا" وهذا اسمه، تنظيم تكون من فصائل التجمع الوطني الديمقراطي، ومرمى البندقية مقصود بها الأرضي المحررة بشرق السودان ومناطق النزوح والتي كانت تقع تحت سيطرة التجمع الوطني الديمقراطي بعد إعلان النضال المسلح عام 1996 بالجبهة الشرقية بالإضافة للنساء بـ (آسمرا) حيث المقر الرئيسي للتجمع الوطني الديمقراطي.. إنها قصة نضال لأجل وطن أضحى وطنين.
