خرج المغرب العربي من المرحلة الاستعمارية مثقلاً بما ترك فيه ذلك الاستعمار من بصماتٍ وجراح حُفرت في ثقافة المجتمعات المغاربية وفي هويتها وذاكرتها الجمعية. ثم شقَّت تلك المجتمعات طريقها الاستقلالي نحو تأسيس دولها وأنظمتها الوطنية، لكنها لم تحصد سوى خيبات أمل مهّدت الطريق بصورة أو بأخرى إلى خروج انتفاضات شعبية أودت ببعض تلك الأنظمة، في حين استطاع بعضها الآخر تجنُّب السقوط عبر بعض الإجراءات الإصلاحية الموضعية.
في هذا السياق صدر عن مركز دراسات الوحدة العربية كتاب ما بعد الاستعمار والقومية في المغرب العربي: التاريخ والثقافة والسياسة (اعداد وتحرير علي عبد اللطيف أحميدة).
يحتوي هذا الكتاب دراسات في الأدب والتاريخ والثقافة والسياسة، حول تجارب بلدان شمال أفريقيا، ويقدّم المساهمون فيه مجموعة قراءات نقدية متعددة الحقول المعرفية، ويطرحون عدة مقاربات نظرية لدارسي التاريخ والثقافة والسياسة. ويتوجّه الكتاب إلى قرّاء مهتمين بالثقافة والتاريخ الاجتماعي، الأفريقي والعربي والأوروبي، وبالاستعمار، والقومية، والدراسات حول الجندر.
يقدم الكتاب رؤية جديدة في النقد المنهجي والتاريخي للكتابات الاستعمارية والغربية، ولإعادة إنتاج هذه الأفكار في المنطقة المغاربية من جانب النخب، ومثقفي الدولة الاستبدادية الفرنكوفونية، والحداثة الغربية، في مختلف نماذجها، المغاربية، المغربي والجزائري والتونسي والليبي. بعبارة أخرى، يحمل الكتاب نقداً للآخر، ونقداً ذاتياً أيضاً للشرائح الفكرية والسياسية التي تبنّت هذه الأفكار بصورة مباشرة أو غير مباشرة.
توفّر فصول الكتاب تحليلاً موضوعياً للتطورات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والسياسية التي شهدتها الدولة الوطنية في المغرب العربي، كما تحلل القوى الاجتماعية التي هُمِّشت وقاومت أجندة الأنظمة السلطوية الاستبدادية التي وصلت إلى طريق مسدود أدّى إلى سقوطها في تونس ومصر وليبيا. فالكتابُ، إذاً، تنبّأ، بطريقة غير مباشرة، بأزمة تلك الأنظمة، وعزلتها، والعوامل التي أدّت إلى سقوطها ولو بعد حين.
