يؤرخ للوراقة في منطقة نجد التي تقع في قلب المملكة العربية السعودية. وذلك خلال المدة من القرن التاسع حتى القرن الرابع عشر الهجري، حيث يعرف بهذه الصناعة التي تعني حرفة نسخ الكتب العلمية ويسير الى ادواتها المكونة في الغالب من اوراق واحبار واقلام وحُلى.
كما يعدد هذا الكتاب ابرز اعلام الوراقين في منطقة نجد بداية من القرن التاسع حتى القرن الرابع عشر الهجري وقد جاوز عددهم المئة والخمسين وراقاً. أما القرن الربع عشر الهجري حين كثر الوارقون وصعب حصرهم فيكتفي بالإشارة الى ابرزهم وعددهم يتجاوز الثمانين وراقاً من الذين امتهنوا الوراقة اليدوية. كما يرفق نماذج من المخطوطات التي كتبها أولئك الوراقون.
