إن حركة التجربة الصوفية، تتنامى وفقا لجدل وجدانى ذاتى، يجعلها تجمع بين النقائض وتؤلف بين المختلفات، حيث تصير غاية التجربة تحقيق الاتحاد. وهكذا فإن الكتابة الصوفية على اختلاف صورها الشعرية والنثرية إنما هى نابعة من التجربة الذاتية الوجودية، التى يصاعد من خلالها إلى عالم الغيب، وينشأ الحوار الجدلى بينهما، بحيث يكون الحوار مباشرا بين الإنسان والله تعالى أو بين الأنا والأنت، وهو الذى نعبر عنه بالحال الذى لا يثبت على حالة واحدة لأنه دائم التحول والتبدل داخل الشخص نفسه، حتى أن المعرفة ذاتها حال لا ثبات لها، ولا نهاية لها، لأنها تورث الإنسان الحيرة.
وهكذا ترتبط ظاهرة الشطح الصوفية بالفناء والاتحاد والمعرفة فى اندماجها بحالات الجد العارم والسكر الروحى واللاشعور كأحوال نفسية ملازمة لهذه الظاهرة المتعالية التى تعبر فى جوهرها عن روح المفارقة التى تضيق، بل وتلغى الهوة العميقة بين الذات العلية والذات الإنسانية المجربة أى أنها تقرب بين المثالى والواقعى، والكونى والوجودى.
