The Author Book One Second Of Love: A Collection Of Stories and the author of 80 another books.
ولد أحمد شفيق بهجت في 15 نوفمبر 1932 بالقاهرة، وتوفى 11 ديسمبر 2011متزوج وله ابنان, حصل على ليسانس حقوق من جامعة القاهرة.
كاتب صحفي عمل صحفيًا بجريدة أخبار اليوم (1955)، ومجلة صباح الخير (1957)، وجريدة الأهرام (1958) ثم رئيس مجلس الإدارة ورئيس تحرير مجلة الإذاعة والتليفزيون (1976)..
ونائب رئيس التحرير للشئون الفنية بجريدة الأهرام منذ (1982) يكتب عمود "صندوق الدنيا" بجريدة الأهرام.
عضو نقابة الصحفيين وله أكثر من عشرين مؤلفًا دينيًا وأدبيًا، منها: أنبياء الله، بحار الحب عند الصوفية، مذكرات صائم، مذكرات زوج، أحسن القصص، الطريق إلى الله، قميص يوسف، وغيرها.
له برنامج إذاعي يومي بعنوان: كلمتين وبس

"غسل بكاؤها أعماق روحه، فأحس أنه بين ملح دموعها وجلدها. كان صوتها يصل إليه في التليفون فيحسّ به مثل نداء كوني لا يملك أن يقاومه. إن صوتها يملؤه ويتسلل في إنحاء روحه ويضيؤها مثل نجوم بعيدة، وبالغاً ما بلغ كتاب الألم، فقد كان في صوتها من ضعف القوة ما يكفي لدفعه إلى الجنون، وبدأ ينشئ حلمه الخاص في الأرض...".
قصصه " أحمد بهجت" قصيرة، تمر كثانية من الحب، تتآلف النفس معها لأنها تنطق بما في دواخلها، بلغة هي أقرب للغة المشاعر والأحاسيس منها إلى اللغة السردية القصصية، لتأخذ أسلوب الحديث بين شخصين ربطت بينهما علاقة صداقة قديمة، فكان الاسترسال العفوي الذي ثرثر حكايات حملت في طياتها ومضات الحبّ الإنساني المؤثر ولو استغرق ثانية.
كان حلمي منذ خمسة وعشرين عاماً أن أنشر مجموعة قصصية قصيرة، وقد دخلت الصحافة من باب القصة القصيرة، ولكن ما كتبته ألقى في سلة المهملات واكتشف الرؤساء أن هذا المجنون الذي يتصور أنه كاتب قصة، هو خامة تصلح للصحافة..
وعملت في الصحافة.. لكنني لم أنسى هوايتي القديمة.. أحياناً كنت أسبح ضد تيار الزمن وأعود إلى كتابة القصة القصيرة..
