لا شك ان عنوان الكتاب (التاريخ السياسي للممالك الأردنية القديمة) امر جديد على الباحثين والمؤرخين في الشؤن الاردنية، وجديد على القراء ايضا، وهو بالنسبة لنا محصلة تفكير وبحث عميقين دقيقين، عبر وقت طويل، حاولنا فيه الاجتهاد، فان اصبت فلي اجران، وان اخطأت فلي أجر واحد. فمن حق الاردن على ان اكتب عنه. وقد وجدت ان بلدي مستودع زاخر بالحضارات القديمة وانه مظلوم كثيرا، بل هو أكثر وطن وقع عليه ظلم في التاريخ وعلى وجه الارض، وان أعظم ما وقع عليه هو الظلم السياسي الحديث، وانكار تاريخه وتاريخ شعبه، وهويته وشرعيته وتوزيع اراضيه للجيران من اجل بقاء حفنة لم يكن لها مكان في الارض سوى الاردن. فقد وجدت ان حقائق التاريخ تتحدث عن الاردن كبلد كانت فيه دول ذات حضارة وادارة وانجازات وسيادة وقيادة وجيوش وديموقراطية وعدالة ورخاء وعنفوان واباء، وكان لها هوية وشرعية، ومقومات دولة عظيمة بمفاهيم ذلك العصر , وحققت مكتسبات وانجازات لازالت ظاهرة على الصخور والحجارة فضلا عنما ينطوي عليه التراب مما يحتاج الى حفريات جادة ولكنها مكلفة بكل تأكيد , كما وجدت شعوبا عربية اردنية متعاقبة بقيت عبر القرون محبة للأردن واستمرت فيه وانتمت اليه ودافعت عنه وبذلت الغالي والرخيص بهذا الصدد , وبقيت الاردن ودولا وممالكها جزءا من الجغرافيا والتاريخ وعلم الاجتماع والثقافة والاطلال والاعمار في سائر الظروف والاحوال ، وانه وطن له كيانه وهويته وشرعيته الجغرافية والسياسية والاجتماعية والتاريخية, وانهم وان تحركوا خارجه لأسباب قاهرة , عادوا اليه اذا زالت الظروف الطاردة لينجذبوا اليه زمن الاولاد والاحفاد واحيانا بعد قرون من الزمن , وما هذا الكتاب الا أحد البراهين التي نضعها بين ايدي التاريخ والاردنيين والقراء .
