تناول الباحثون دراسة الصور الشعرية وما تحوي من تنوعات وتفرعات في أصولها وفي طريقة تشكيلها، وما يشوبها من رتوش بيانية وحسية لتحسينها، وبيان مدى تأثيرها في المتلقي، ورأوا أن الصور تتنوع في طريقة تشكيلها ما بين الصورة الحسية والصورة البيانية والصورة الخيالية، وأن مكونات الصورة الحسية هي الشكل واللون والحركة، وقد رأت تلك الدراسات أن الحركة في تلك الصور لم تأخذ نصيباً من تلك الدراسات، ولم تجد ما يدعو إلى التأثير اللازم في رسمها.
ولم تبذل تلك الدراسات جهداً في تحرّي الحركة أو الحركية وتأثيرها الواضح في جذب الإنتباه إلى الصورة الحركية، ومحاولة فهمها من خلال الحركة المصاحبة لها، فالصورة الحركية لا تكتسب مثل هذه الحيوية إلا من خلال إعتمادها على الحركة، وهذه الحركة قد تكون ملازمة للصورة بقصد الإيضاح والإفهام، وقد تكون لإبعاد السأم والملل والرتابة عن المتلقي، وقد تكون مقصورة على الإشارة المفهومة للمتلقي، لإيجاد سرية في إيصال المعنى، وإبعاد الخطر عن الباعث والمتلقي.
ووجد الباحث أن التعبير عن الحركة في الصورة الشعرية يستدل منها على إثارة العاطفة ولا سيما في الصور التي تبدو على دلالاتها حالة الألفة والمودة، ويتم ذلك من خلال حركة العين في حالة الإعجاب والتأييد والمساندة، وكذلك في حركة اليد للتحية والعناق، والضم، وكذلك في حركات عاطفية أخرى مثيرة تشد إليها العاطفة لدى المتلقي، وتدعوه إلى تحبيذها وتأييدها.
