تعد الألوان مؤسساً من أهم مؤسسات المنظر الجمالي وإحدى أهم خصوصيات الحياة البشرية، بها جمَّل الإنسان حياته وتجمل ليظهر بهاءه ويرضي عدداً من رغباته، والألوان عالم لا يحده واصف ولا يحيط به خيال مبدع مهما كانت درجة الإبداع عنده.
واستخدم الإنسان هذه الالوان على نحو مباشر كإستخدامها في الرسم والأصباغ بمجالاتها المختلفة وغير مباشر فكانت المفردات اللغوية خير معبر عن ذلك، والشعر مصدر الثراء اللغوي عند العرب أحبته وعبرت من خلاله عما جال في أذهانها واعتلج بين خلجاتها وهو بقيامه على الخيال والتصوير وهما ركنا العملية التكوينية للصورة اللونية في الشعر؛ فإن الشاعر يجمع عبره شتات رؤاه ليخرجها وقد حملت معها من صور الجمال وقد أخذت زينتها فتبهرجت بالألوان وتوشحت حتى استحالت صوراً لونية نابضة بالحياة - ولكي نعطي رؤيتنا للصورة اللونية بعداً واقعياً تطبيقاً يوضح فلسفتنا في تناولها فقد قصرنا دراستنا على أنموذج واحد هو ديوان ابن الزقاق البلنسي، بوصفه أحد أبرز شعراء دولة الطوائف والمرابطين من حيث نضج ملامح الفن الشعري الأندلسي وإكتسابه هويته الخاصة.
