هذا الكتاب عبارة عن دراسة تتناول موضوع بقي بعيداً عن ميادين البحث واكتنفه الغموض سواء ما تعلق منه بالناحية القانونية أو الفقهية أو القضائية، وهو ما ينتاب المرأة من إضطرابات فسيولوجية (وظيفية - عضوية) طبيعية جبلت عليها وتكون على تماس مع أعراضها، ومدى تأثيرها في قواها العقلية، ومن ثم في مسؤوليتها الجزائية، وتتحدد هذه الإضطرابات الفسيولوجية، التي تختص بها النساء، بالطمث أو إضطرابات ما قبل الدورة الشهرية والحمل أو إضطرابات الحمل والنفاس أو إضطرابات ما بعد الولادة.
وقد اعتُمدت منهجية مركبة في بحث مواضيع هذه الدراسة، وذلك من خلال الإعتماد على المنهج التحليلي والمنهج التطبيقي في تناول مفهوم الإضطرابات الفسيولوجية الخاصة بالمرأة، وذلك من خلال بحث المدلول الطبي والقانوني لهذه الإضطرابات، وموقف كل من التشريعات والفقه والقضاء من هذه الإضطرابات الفسيولوجية، وكذلك مسألة إثبات هذه الإضطرابات الفسيولوجية وأثرها في التكييف القانوني سواء ما تعلق منه بشخص المتهمة أو بفعلها الجرمي.
