يتناول المؤلف في هذا الكتاب (قبيلة عنزة الوائلية في كتابات الرحالة والمستشرقين) من شغفه بالرحلات وقراءة كتب الرحلات؛ لذلك تجد مكتبتي – دون مبالغة – ثلثها من هذا النوع؛ زد على ذلك الموضوعات التي أشارك بها بين فترة وأخرى في المنتديات الحوارية على شبكة المعلومات العامة (الإنترنت)، والتي تناول فيها (ما قاله الرحّالة والمستشرقون عن قبيلة عَنَزة الوائلية، حيث جمع النصوص التي كتبوها عن قبيلة عَنَزة الوائلية، وعمل على ترتيبها وتنسيقها لتكون مرجعاً للقارىء المهتم.
وقد جاءت خطة البحث كالتالي:
1- ذكر المحقق أو المترجم الذي أخرج الرحلة لأهل العربية.
2- دار النشر التي قامت بطبعه ونشره.
3- نبذة موجزة عن الرحّالة والرحلة.
4- إستعراض النصوص التي ورد فيها ذكر قبيلة عَنَزة والتعليق عليها بما يسمح به النص المنقول، ومحاولة إعطاء القارىء صورة واضحة عن التاريخ الوائلي.
وقد رتب المؤلف هذه الرحلات ترتيباً تاريخياً، معتمداً عند كتابة تاريخ بعض الأحداث أن يذكر التاريخ الهجري، ثم ما يوافقه من التاريخ الميلادي.
