لما كانت سير الخلفاء الراشدين، رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين، شاملة لما يحتاج إليه الناس في حياتهم الدنيوية والأخروية، لأنها حافلة بالأمثال العالية، والأخلاق الفاضلة، والأعمال الصالحة والمناقب الشريفة، والأدلة المنيفة، التي تهدي الخلق، لاتباع الحق، والسير على الصراط السوي، وكان من الواجب على كل مسلم اتباعها، والأخذ بها، عملاً بقوله صلى الله عليه وسلم "عليكم بسنتي، وسنة الخلفاء الراشدين المهديين عضوا عليها بالنواجذ"، ولما كانت كذلك، أرد أن أشرح، خلاصة سير الخلفاء الراشدين ومناقبهم وأعمالهم، وما جاء من الأحاديث النبوية وغيرها في فضائلهم، ومحاسنهم، وشذرات من كلامهم، ومواعظهم، وخطبهم، ووصاياهم، لتكون نبراساً لهداية أبناء الأمة المصرية إلى الطريق المستقيم الذي يوصلهم إلى النجاح والسعادة في الدنيا والأخرة.
