في أي مكان في العالم يقوم الأرمن بدور نشط وفعال ينفع المجتمع الذي يعيشون فيه، حتى ولو نظر إليهم أبناء هذا المجتمع كعناصر درامية في رواية. ولذا يقوم الأرمن برسم صورة دقيقة لأنفسهم كما نراهم في الواقع أو كما يجب أن نراهم بغض النظر عن موقعنا نحن منهم. وهذا ما يصنع الأدب الجيد.
توضح هذه القصص التطور الثقافي والاجتماعي عند الارمن، كما انها توضح الفارق بين ادب جيلين مختلفين لكل منهما افكاره وهمومه، هذا بالاضافة لتأثرها بعادات وتقاليد ومجتمعية مختلفة كما ذكرنا من قبل. فنظرة سريعة إلى الأدباء الأرمن تكشف أن الأديب الكبير "وليام سارويان" هو أول من لفت الأنظار للأدب الأرمني لأنه أول من حرص على أن يقرأ أعماله غير الأرمن، وهم بالتالي من نقلوا أعماله إلى الخارج رغم أنه لم يكن الاكثر موهبة. إلا أن أهمية "سارويان" تكمن في أنه نقل في أعماله كل شيء عن الإبادة الجماعية التي واجهها الارمن عبر سنوات طويلة، ويأتي بعده أهم الأدباء الأرمن على الإطلاق في هذا القرن "فرانز ويرفيل "صاحب رواية (أيام موسى داغ الأربعين)، وهي الرواية الأولى في مبيعات الكتب الأرمنية على مدى الستين عاما الماضية. وهناك أيضا "مايكل أرلين" وهو من الكتاب أصحاب الأسلوب المؤثر، ومنه تعلمت الأجيال التالية، رغم أنه لم يلتفت إليه إلا في أواخر حياته. ورغم أن هذا الكتاب لا يتضمن شيئا من أدب أي منهم، وذلك لأنهم جميعا من الروائيين، فإن هؤلاء الكتاب الثلاثة هم من أثروا أدب "هاغوب أوشاجان" والد القصة القصيرة في أرمينيا رغم اختلافه عنهم في الأسلوب وفي بعده عن التركيز على الإبادة الجماعية؛ حيث كانت أعماله تميل أكثر للرومانسية والمشاكل الحياتية، وتقريبا لم يشاركه مكانته هذه أحد، ولهذا تتضمن هذه المجموعة أربعا من قصصه، تعبر عن حياة الأرمن حتى عام 1948 في كل من بلغاريا ومصر وقبرص والقدس حيث عاش "أوشاجان" فترة إلى أن توفي.
