يجب أن نعترف ونقرّ بأننا نعيش حربًا فرضتها عوامل وأسباب عديدة، حربا ليست تقليدية فيها رابح وخاسر، بل هي حرب لن يكون فيها رابح أبدًا، لأنها «حرب المناخ» التي ستقود – في ما لو لم نتدارك أخطارها – إلى فناء العالم، لكنها حرب في مداها الراهن والمنظور يتحمل تبعاتها من يمثلون الحلقة الأضعف، دولًا وأفرادًا وجماعات، ويمكن توصيفها على أنها حرب الأغنياء على الفقراء، يشنها من يتحكمون باقتصادات العالم تؤكد آخر المؤشرات الصادرة عن مراكز أبحاث متخصصة أن مستويات ثاني أوكسيد قارب400 جزءاً في المليون، فيما المطلوب تخفيضها بسرعة إلى مستوى 300 جزء في المليون، خصوصا وأننا قد نصل إلى مرحلة «اللاعودة المناخية»، وما شهدناه في مؤتمرات المناخ المتعاقبة، يؤكد كيف أن الدول الكبرى والغنية خطفت المحادثات، ولا تني تصادر أحلام الفقراء بما يؤمن ديمومة مصالحها، وهؤلاء هم من يواجه في حاضرهم ومستقبلهم عنف المناخ، موجات جفاف، أعاصير، زحف الصحراء على أراضيهم الخصبة، شح موارد المياه وتملحها، مع استمرار خيار الاقتصادات الكبيرة في حرق الوقود الأحفوري، الذي هو في النهاية خيار الشركات والحكومات
