يتم تناول تلك القراءة من خلال المحاور التالية: المحور الأول: القراءة الجديدة للوثيقة الأم ويتناول عالمية الإعلان ومرجعياته الحضارية, ومراجعة لاتجاهات تراكم أجيال الحقوق (من الحقوق الأساسية, والسياسية والمدنية, والاجتماعية والاقتصادية, إلى الحقوق الجماعية, والبينية, ثم الحق في المعرفة والتنمية, والأمن الإنساني). والمحور الثاني: مقارنة عالم الأفكار ويتناول القضايا النظرية مثل قضية الخصوصية والعالمية في حقوق الإنسان, توظيف القضية كأداة (رؤية العلاقات الدولية), والبحث في رؤى التراث السياسي الإسلامي.
أما المحور الثالث: الرؤى الحضارية المقارنة يتناول الرؤى الحضارية للمناطق المختلفة من العالم حول الإعلان (العالم العربي والإسلامي- أوروبا- آسيا- أفريقيا- أمريكا اللاتينية), المحور الرابع: الوثائق والممارسات, المحور الخامس: المنظمات المتخصصة الرسمية وغير الرسمية يتناول إعادة قراءة الوثائق والتقارير الصادرة عن المنظمات المتخصصة, الرسمية وغير الرسمية, العالمية منها, وعبر القومية, والوطنية.
والمحور السادس: القضايا القانونية ومنها إعادة تشكيل قواعد القانون الدولي, والحقوق الجماعية للإنسان, وآليات الحماية, واتجاهات التحفظات العربية والإسلامية على مواد وبنود في مواثيق دولية, المحور السابع: القضايا السياسية ومنها نشر الديمقراطية, وحقوق الإنسان في السياسات الحارجية للدول الكبرى, ورؤى المجتمع المدني العالمي, وإعادة الاعتبار لحق المقاومة. هذه إضافة إلى المحاضرة الختامية للمؤتمر حول انتهاك حقوق الإنسان الفلسطيني, حيث تتزامن النكبة مع صدور الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان في نفس العام.
