تفتقر المكتبة العربية بصفة عامة والمكتبة المصرية بصفة خاصة للدراسات فى مجال تربية ورعاية الاوز، وربما يعزى ذلك لعدم وجود بيانات كافية حيث انه من الطيور الثانوية والتى لا يستهلكها المجتمع العربى والمصرى الا فى المناسبات الدينية او الاجتماعية. كما ان تربية هذا النوع من الطيور لا ينتشر الا فى القرى المصرية وباعداد صغيرة (لا يوجد مزارع تجارية لانتاج الاوز فى مصر او الدول العربية). لذا فاننا نأمل ان يكون هذا الكتاب النواه الاولى للاهتمام بهذا النوع من الطيور لسد جزء من العجز فى البروتين الحيوانى. وقد تم الاعتماد فى اعداد هذا الكتاب على ترجمة العديد من الكتب والمقالات الاجنبية، بالاضافة الى الاستعانة بالمعلومات الموجودة ببعض المواقع الالكترونية ومنها على سبيل المثال ويكيبيديا الموسوعة الحرة. وندعو الله العلى القدير ان يكون علماً ينتفع به.
