لا يصل القارئ، من خلال هذه المذكرات، إلى (الصين) التي زارها مؤلفها محمود عبد الغني، لأن الوصول إليها أمر متاح متى ما انتواه الشخص وهيأ له الأسباب، بل يصل، وهو الأهم، إلى المعرفة التي لا يمكن أن تَتِمّ إلا من خلال العلم بالشيء، والتي تتحصَّل على مستويين: العارف بها، كاتبنا، لأنه أدركها بحس من حواسه، وطلبها فاستوعب معانيها واختزنها ثم سكبها في قالبها هذا، والمُتَعَرِّف عليها (قارئنا) بوصفه الاسم الذي وقع عليه الفعل، أو تحصّلت لديه المعرفة منه (الفعل).
