"التقريب لمصنفات الخطيب" سلسلة هدفها تقريب مصنفات العلامة الحافظ أبي بكر بن ثابت -المعروف بالخطيب البغدادي- المتوفى سنة ثلاث وستين وأربع مئة من هجرته، مختصرة مهذبه، مصححة منقحة، ممزجة محققة. كما وتهدف هذه السلسلة إلى تيسير كتب الخطيب ومطالعتها مطالعة جادة، ودفع أسباب الفروق عنها وعن قراءتها، بتهذيب نصوصها واختصار أسانيدها، وتنقيتها مما شوه جمالها من أحاديث ضعيفة أو موضوعة، وقصص باطلة أو لا أصل لها، ثم إخراجها في ثوب قشيب وحلة بهية نجذب القراء إليها بقوة.
والسلسة المذكورة تضم كتباً متعددة منها تهذيب اقتضاء العلم العمل"، وتهذيب "الفقيه والمتفقه" وتهذيب "شرف أصحاب الحديث"، وهو هذا الذي بين يدينا والذي يروي فيه المصنف ما جاء عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الحث على التبليغ عنه وفضل النقل كما سمع منه، ثم ثبت ما روى عن الصحابة والتابعين ومن بعدهم من العلماء الخالفين من شرف أصحاب الحديث وفضلهم وعلو مرتبتهم، ونبلهم ومحاسنهم المذكورة ومعالمهم المأثورة.
