تناولنا في الجزء الأول من هذا الكتاب بعض أساطير البشر. أما الجزء الثاني فإنه يتناول أساطير بعض الآلهة الصغرى. والآلهة الصغرى هي مجموعة من الشخصيات المقدسة. إنها ليست من أفراد البشر. بل هي آلهة خالدة لا تموت لكنها لا تحتل مكاناً دائماً بين أعضاء مملكة أولومبوس. فلقد تخيل الاغريق أن مقر مملكة الآلهة العظمى فوق جبل أولومبوس. هناك يجلس كبير الآلهة زيوس وحوله أحد عشر مقعداً حيث تجلس بقية الآلهة العظمى. من هذه الساحة الإلهية المقدسة المعظمة تصدر الأوامر إلي كل من الآلهة الصغرى والأبطال وأفراد البشر. مجموعة الآلهة الصغرى تضم أعداداً لا حصر لها من الشخصيات المقدسة الخالدة مثل سيلينى وهيليوس وبان وغيرهم.
لذا فإن هذا الجزء من الكتاب يتناول أربع أساطير بالغة الأهمية وهي: أسطورة الخلق، أسطورة طيبة، أسطورة أرجوناوتيكا، وأسطورة طروادة. هذه الأساطير الأربع تتناول من خلال أحداثها المتعددة أغلب آلهة الاغريق الصغرى والعظمى كما تتناول أيضاً قصص الأبطال من أفراد البشر، لكن ذلك يحدث بطريقة غير مباشرة. إنها تتناول في بعض تفاصيلها بعض شخصيات أسطورية سبق تناولها في الجزء الأول من الكتاب بالتفصيل مثل أوديب وأنتيجوني وأجاممنون وغيرهم. لذا فقد رؤى من الأفضل عدم تناولها بالتفصيل بل مجرد الإشارة إلي أماكن تناولها في الجزء الأول. أما الجزء الثالث من الكتاب فإنه يتناول الآلهة الأولومبية الاثنى عشر.
