فالرؤيا هى ما يراه النائم فى المنام وهى تتنوع إلى حق وباطل. فالحق هو ما يراه الإنسان المعتدل السوى المستقيم بحيث لا يكون نائما على فكرة معينة أو تمنى شئ ما ويجب أن يكون طاهرا أثناء نومه لكي تصح الرؤيا.
والباطل من الرؤيا هو الذى يسبقه تمني شئ معين أو حديث عن موضوع ما ثم يظهر لك فى المنام وأيضا عدم الطهارة يبطل الرؤيا. فمن رأي ما يكره فى رؤياه يتحول عن جنبه الذى نام عليه ويتفل عن يساره ثلاثا ويستعيذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم ويقول "اللهم إنى أسالك خير هذه الرؤيا وأعوذ بك من شرها". وعلى صاحب الرؤيا أن لايقصها على حاسد أو جاهل ولا يكذب فيما رأى.
