مؤلف هذا الكتاب مجهول، لكنه واسع الخيال، سهل العبارة العامية المفصحة، وقد وردت فيه ألفاظ عامية قديمة بطل استعمالها وليست في كتب اللغة، وعادلاً يعرفها غي المسنين الذين تجاوزوا العمر في مثلي، منها الشناغيب، والكلار، والدبيلة، والزعر، وقد استعملت الهامش لشرحها.
