يضم الكتاب دراسة حاول المؤلف من خلالها تجلية القواعد الأصولية التي يعتمد عليها الظاهرية في استنباط الأحكام الفقهية من النصوص الشرعية . وقد تمّ تخصيصها للإمام ابن حزم الظاهري الذي أقام منار المذهب الظاهري، وقوّى أسسه، وأبرز معالمه. وابن حزم هو علي بن أحمد بن حزم الأندلسي، علم من الأعلام الذين امتازوا بسعة العلم والمعرفة حتى وصف بأنه الرجل الذي لا نهاية لمعرفته. كان ابن حزم حافظا للحديث وفقهه، مستنبطا الأحكام من الكتاب والسنة. وقد قسّم الباحث دراسته إلى المواضيع التالية: 1- الخطبة 2- التمهيد: الباب الأول في مصادر التشريع عند ابن حزم ويتضمن ثلاثة فصول: أ)في الكتاب، ب)في السنة، ج)في الإجماع. الباب الثاني: في طرق استثمار مصادر التشريع عند ابن حزم وفيه أربعة فصول وهي: أ)مسلك ابن حزك في الدلالة، ب) طرق استثمار النص عند ابن حزم، ج) رأي ابن حزم في المجاز والمفهوم، الخاتمة.
كتاب مهم بأصول الفقه الاسلامي. يقول المؤلف: إن فوائدا جمة تكمن في علم أصول الفقه لكل مسلم ومسلمة، ومن أجل هذا جمعت هذه الدراسة التي قد تعين في إنارة درب المشتاق إلى أصول هذا الفن المرموق. وهي دراسة قصدنا بها تجلية القواعد الأصولية التي يعتمد عليها الظاهرية في استنباط الأحكام الفقهية من النصوص الشرعية، وقد خصصناها للإمام ابن حزم الظاهري الذي أقام منار المذهب الظاهري، وعبّد سبله، وقوى أسسه، وأبرز معالمه ودافع عن حياضه. وقد جاء الكتاب في أربعة فصول وخاتمة
