وبالتالي، تندلع الحرب عندما يصف هذا القس السلع التي تروجها هذه الوافدة الجديدة، بأنها قمة في المعصية.
فجأةً، يتحول متجر "فيان" والذي يحوي مقهى صغير في الداخل، إلى مكان للبوح بالأسرار وبث الشكاوى وعيش الأحلام - لتكون خطة "فيان" في تأسيس مهرجان للشوكولا بمناسبة عيد الفصح، سبباً لتقسيم المجتمع كله، فينشأ صراع كبير حول فكرة "إما الكنيسة أو الشوكولا"!".
أما بالنسبة للأفواه المتشوقة لتذوق الطعم الرائع... فهل يُقارن وفار الكنيسة "بالعشق الوثني لقطعة كلير بالشوكولا؟".
لأول مرة في تاريخ التأليف، نجد رواية تتناول موضوع الشوكولا، بأهميتها الحقيقية، كقضية أخلاقية وعامل للتحول، ومتعة تصل إلى حد الهوس...
