وتكمن أهمية البحث عن الشيخ إبن ابي جمهور الإحسائي في كونه المفتاح والشفرة لفك رموز الحقبة العلمية التي عاشها خلال القرنين التاسع والعاشر الهجري في منطقة الأحساء وهي الفترة التي كانت عصية ويشوبها الكثير من الغموض على مستوى الحراك العلمي والإتجاه الديني وطبيعته في ذلك الزمن. فقد شرح في إحدى رسائله الهامة الوضع العلمي في البلاد والجهد الكبير الذي بذله من أجل تغييره ...

كما أنه أول شخصية في التاريخ الشيعي كتب رسالة مستقلة مفصّلة في (علم الإستعداد) بل ووضع المصطلح له ولكن تحت عنوان (أهل الإستعداد) وقد كرّره عدة مرات في رسالته (كاشفة الحال). وهو علم يدور حول الخطوات العملية التي يتدرج فيها طالب العلم نحو المراتب العلمية العالية. ويعتبر من العلوم التي هي في غاية الأهمية لطالب العلم حيث يختصر عليه الزمن ويجعله يسير على بصيرة وهدى من أمره ..
من هذا المنطلق، تناول المؤلف بعداً جديداً من حياته، وهو "العطاء الفقهي عند الشيخ محمد بن علي إبن أبي جمهور الإحسائي ليكون ضمن الحلقات التي تناول فيها أعلام الفقه في الأحساء ونشرها في مجلة "الفقاهة" التي تٌعنى بالشأن الفقهي.
