لقد وضعنا نصب أعيننا منذ البداية وضع إستراتيجية للتحول نحو السياحة الخضراء في لبنان.
ولذلك كان لا بد من بيان أهم المرتكزات التي تستند عليها السياحة الخضراء ولذلك وضعنا تأسيساً نظرياً للسياحة الخضراء ودورها في الإقتصاد والتنمية السياحية ومن ثم الإجتماعية كما وضعنا برامج سياحة خضراء للبنان وهي في الوقت ذاته تصلح لدول العالم كافة.
وبالتالي فإننا نرجو أن تكون نموذجاً نعلّق عليها آمالاً كبيرة لتنمية آفاق السياحة في بلدي العراق.
حاولنا في هذا البحث وضع مقاربات مفاهيمية للتنمية السياحية والتنمية السياحية المستدامة والسياحة الخضراء وذكر المسارات التي مرت بها السياحة وتوضيح أهم نقاط التقارب والتباعد بين مسارات التنمية السياحية.
كذلك حاولنا تجنب الأخطاء التي وقت فيها التنمية السياحية التقليدية خاصة في ما يتعلق بالبيئة والرؤية الإستراتيجية للتنمية السياحية، وهي - بحد ذاتها - خطوة نحو السياحة الخضراء التي تعتبر بدورها أكثر إستدامة للسياحة وأكثر مراعاة للبيئة وتأخذ بالحسبان تدني الأضرار البيئة إلى أدنى مستوى ممكن في نمط الإنتاج الأخضر الإيجابي تجاه البيئة، وهو الأمر الذي تسعى إليه البلدان السياحية.
استطعنا خلال هذا البحث وضع معنى إصطلاحي للسياحة الخضراء وهو معنى يشكل رؤية جديدة تعمل على دراسة المنافع الإقتصادية، آخذة بالإعتبار مصالح السكان المحليين، ومن أجل الحفاظ على أن تكون البيئة نظيفة من كل الملوثات والمخاطر، وذلك عبر وضع حزمة من السياسات الفاعلة لإستخدام الموارد بشكل مستدام وصديق للبيئة من دون إستنزاف رأس المال البيئي والإجتماعي والحضاري والتاريخي.
