الطفل، من الأسرة، في نقطة المحور.
الحقيقة هذه التي غالباً ما يتناساها اليوم الأبوان بسبب تكاثر أشغال البشر واهتماماتهم، هي المسلمة الضمنية، والصريحة أحياناً لكتابنا هذا.
يبدأ تعلم الطفل ونموه عقلياً وجسدياً منذ ساعته الأولى، إن فيها وفي الأشهر التي تلي، يكتشف محيطه، اكتشاف هو بمثابة صدمة لحواسه البكر الذي يتجمع أول ما يتجمع في أحاسيسه. فشتان ما بين أن تستثير هذه الصدمة حواسه لمزيد من المعرفة، وبين أن تكون قاسية ترهق أعصابه وتشعره بعجزه. القارئ الأول هذا يستمر حتى تتبلور شخصية الطفل في سن المراهقة أو حوالي الخامسة عشرة من عمره. لمس الأشياء والانطباعات التي تخلقها في كيانه، تتبع الصور البصرية والحسية، اللعب والألعاب، الكلمات الأولى وتركيب الجمل... الحضانة والمدرسة، تعلم القراءة والكتابة... المراحل هذه وردود فعل الطفل عليها، يتأرجح فيها موقف الأب والأم بين حدين أقصيين كلاهما ضار: الحياة أو الحنان المفرط، إهمال الطفل أو وضعه تحت الوصاية. الموقف السليم بين الحدين، في موقع يقرره الأب والأم-الأم أكثر من الأب-يختلف بين بيئة وأخرى، بين أسرة وغيرها، بين زمن والزمن الذي يليه.
لقد تكاثرت اليوم وسائل التربية في سن الحضانة، الألعاب، الرسوم والصور، أدوات التلوين، أنواع الدفاتر والأقلام، وتقابلها الإغراءات التي قد تشوه نفسية الطفل، والتي ينشر منها التلفزيون أشكالاً عدة. فموقف الأهل من الطفل حاسم إذا عرفوا كيف يوجهونه دون قسر أو بحد أدنى من القسر.
الواقع أن الأم التي تهب ذاتها كلها لطفلها-وهذا نادر-يمكن أن تكشف تلقائياً حاجات الطفل تقريباً كلها، يلزمها فقط مسعف في كشوفها. وكتابنا هذا هو دليلها ودليل الأب إلى أطفالهما، وفيه ما يسعفهما في التعرف على أطفالهما عندما تتكاثر أشغالهما فلا يعيران الطفل الوقت اللازم لتربيته.
