ناقد أديب وأستاذ جامعي، عمل في جامعة ليون الثانية بفرنسا، وتولى الإشراف على عشرات الرسائل العلمية للحصول على درجتي الماجستير والدكتوراه في مصر والجزائر وفرنسا.
شارك في كثير من المؤتمرات الدولية والعربية منذ عام 1979، ونُشرت مقالاته في مختلف الصحف المصرية والعربية والفرنسية، وكتب عنه مجموعة من الباحثين في كتاب صدر عن دار العين سنة 2010 بعنوان النقد والإبداع والواقع..

Book Description
العلاقة بين العروض وإيقاع الشعر العربي، هي موضوع هذا الكتاب. وهي علاقة تناوبها التماثل والتناقض عبر الفترات المختلفة لتاريخ الشعر العربي منذ الجاهلية وحتى الآن. غير أن الكتاب يكشف أن التماثل لم يكن - في أية لحظة - هو السمة الوحيدة لهذه العلاقة، بقدر ما كان الصراع والتنافر في داخل هذه السمة الظاهرية. ولذلك فإنه يحاول أن يكشف عن الخصائص الفنية والمعرفية التي حالت بين العروض وبين التماثل الكامل مع إيقاع الشعر العربي، وهي خصائص نتجت عن المكونات الفلسفية التي كانت في خلفية واقعية.
هي محاولة إذن لتقديم منظور بديل في التعامل مع التراث بديل يسعى لإنتاج معرفة علمية مستندة إلى الشعر العربي قديمه وحديثه، مع دراسة تطبيقية ممتعة ومفيدة لبعض النصوص الحديثة.
