العمل الذي أقدمه لا يعد من المباحث الأدبية بلاغية أو نقدية، وإن كان يخدمها وإنما هو عمل لغوي يدخل ضمن دراسات علم اللغة وله أسسه ومناهجه المعروفة في حقل الدرس اللغوي، ولما كنت قد توصلت إلى كشف الأبعاد اللغوية لفكر عالم اللغة عبد القاهر الجرجاني وأوضحت أسسه وحددت أبعاده والمبادئ التي قام عليها وانبثق عنها وقد ثبت للبحث العلمي وبه أن عبد القاهر الجرجاني قد توصل منذ آماد بعيدة إلى ما توصل إليه اللغويون المحدثون في هذا المجال، لذلك فقد أردت أن أطبق جانباً من أفكار ذلك العالم وفق نظريته المتكاملة لدراسة اللغة في ضوء علم اللغة الحديث على كتاب الأيام للدكتور/ طه حسين رحمه الله، وبذلك أقدم من حقل الدرس اللغوي إسهامة في إحياء ذكرى عميد الأدب العربي، أشارك من خلالها في بعث أفكار سلفنا الصالح من علمائنا الذين قدموا للفكر الإنساني خير ما نعتز به ونفتخر.
