في ظل تسارع الأحداث والتبادل الهائل للمعلومات بين المجتمعات البشرية بخاصة على شبكة المعلومات العالمية “الإنترنت” أدى ذلك التطور في الوسائل والأدوات بين البشر إلى استثمارها واستغلالها للوصول إلى المعرفة والحقيقة بسهولة أكبر، فقد تنوعت المواقع الإلكترونية التي تنتج خطابًا إعلاميًا خاصًا بطبيعتها وتوجهاتها المختلفة، سواء كان ذلك الخطاب دينيًا أو ليبراليًا أو حتى إلحاديًا، ومن هنا برزت الحاجة من قبل التيارات السلفية لاستغلال هذه الأدوات من أجل تقديم خطاب سلفي “ذاتي” يختلف بإخلاف طبيعة التنوع داخل التيار، فمن مواقع سلفية تابعة للتيار السلفي العلمي “التقليدي” إلى مواقع تابعة للتيار السلفي الإصلاحي “الصحوي”، إضافة إلى التيار السلفي “الجهادي” بطبيعة الحال. وقد استغلت هذه التيارات السلفية الفضاء الواسع في الإنترنت وأنشئت مواقع إلكترونية تابعة لها لتقدّم من خلالها خطابًا دينيًا يغلب عليه الطابع السلفي، حيث تتمتع المواقع الإلكترونية بسمات وخصائص ذاتية تميزها عن غيرها من وسائل الاتصال والتواصل الأخرى من حيث سرعة التواصل وقوة التفاعل بين الجمهور وهذا ما تمتاز به عن غيرها من الوسائل التقليدية الأخرى، هذا وتسعى التيارات السلفية خصوصًا في الآونة الأخيرة عبر النفاذ لشبكة “الإنترنت” إلى كسب الجمهور والتأثير عليه نظرًا لتقبل المجتمعات العربية للخطاب الديني حيث استطاعت التيارات السلفية تكوين شبكة كبيرة وعريضة من المواقع الإلكترونية المنتشرة عبر الإنترنت وتمكنت من تكوين خطاب خاص بها له خصائصه وسماته القادرة على النفاذ إلى جمهور واسع بل والقدرة على التأثير عليه وتوجيهه. ومن هذا المنطلق حاول الباحث الوقوف على سمات وخصائص الخطاب الإعلامي للتيارات السلفية بكافة توجهاتها المختلفة، وتحديدًا التي تناولتها المواقع الإلكترونية السلفية وذلك في فترة ربيع الثورات العربية التي أدت إلى الكثير من التأثيرات السياسية والاجتماعية المتلاحقة والتغيرات بين أوساط التيارات السياسية وعلى رأسها التيارات السلفية الإسلامية.
