وقعت حرب المورة في أوائل عشرينيات القرن التاسع عشر- واشتدت من 6 يناير 1824 إلى 20 أكتوبر 1827- واستمرت حوالي ثلاث سنوات؛ ابتداء من وصول طلائع الاسطول المصري بقيادة إبراهيم باشا حتى انسحاب بقايا هذا الأسطول بعد مؤامرة تدمير القوات المتحالفة له، والمكونة من إنجلترا وفرنسا وروسيا. وهذه المجموعة من الوثائق عن هذه الحرب توجد أصولها في أرشيف الدولة النمساوية، وقد جرى نسخها في أوائل الثلاثينيات من القرن الماضي في إطار محاولة الملك فؤاد كتابة تاريخ أسرة محمد علي فرع إبراهيم. وقد قام بهذا الجهد عدد من الباحثين الأجانب الذين جرى توظيفهم في ذلك المشروع. والوثائق عبارة عن تقاريرقناصل وبعثات دبلوماسية، وهي موجهة إلى المستشار النمساوي الأشهر ميترنيخ.
